Bettina Dodd, R.N., a 1980 UVa graduate, is a native of Nelson County and a 17-year veteran of JABA. She began her career at JABA in 1990 as an in-home services field supervisor for recipients of Medicaid and companion services. Since 2000, she has been the registered nurse for the adult day healthcare center on Hillsdale Drive. Her duties include assessments and enrollments on all new members; biannual assessment updates on all members; biannual care plan reviews on all members; monthly reviews on all members; and the ongoing supervision of Medicaid services to all eligible enrollees, including verification of eligibility, arrangement of transportation services, oversight of nurse's aide services and documentation, monthly service reports, and the submission of monthly attendance counts for billing. She also supervises all medication administration as is performed by medication technicians, and oversees the daily lunch delivery to those members with special dietary considerations. In addition, she assists as needed with custodial care of members, redirecting wanderers, and afternoon checkout. On a personal note, Bettina is the wife of Bennie Dodd, a well-acclaimed Charlottesville musician, and is mother to two sons and two stepsons.
