About Nursing Homes
Nursing homes are health care facilities where nursing services are provided on a continuous basis. The services provided in a nursing facility include skilled nursing care and related services; rehabilitation services for injured, disabled or sick persons; and health.related care and services. General nursing care or intermediate care includes assistance with bathing, dressing and eating; preparation of special diets; administration of medicines; application of surgical dressings; and the administration of care and treatments prescribed by a physician. Medicare can help pay for a stay in a skilled nursing facility.
