Support

JABA is all about lending support to seniors in need of assistance. Whether that includes basic information, case management, insurance counseling, home delivered meals — or any of the many other available services — we want you to think of JABA as a source of support for you or your loved ones. Most of our support is offered as a gift to those who cannot pay. See individual programs for more details.

Give

JABA is able to do all that it does because of generous volunteers and donors. We value contributions of time as well as dollars and promise to put your talents and your donations to very good use.

In the past five years, government funding has diminished. Luckily, individual and corporate contributions have begun to rise. Your assistance is greatly appreciated and needed.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HEALTH CARE COMMUNITY TO HONOR NURSING ASSISTANTS

Record number sign on to honor the healing power of nursing assistants.

Charlottesville, VA —- “Helping People –- Touching Lives” will be the theme for 250 nursing assistants and their supporters Tuesday, June 15 at the 13th Annual Nursing Assistant Recognition. The celebration takes place 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Holiday Inn University Area, 1901 Emmet Street North, Charlottesville 22901.

Highlighting this year’s program will be the presentation of Nursing Assistant of the Year awards in five categories: Acute Care, Long-Term Care, Assisted Living, Home Health/Community Care and Companion/Sitter.

“Nursing assistants are the frontline of patient care,” says Gordon Walker, CEO, JABA. “They can provide the majority of the day-to-day care and deserve to be recognized for the value of their time and professionalism. All of us at JABA are proud to again work with other health-care organizations to put together this program.”

Co-sponsors with JABA for this year’s event are:

  • Care Advantage Plus
  • Charlottesville Health and Rehabilitation
  • Golden Living – The Cedars

“We’re extremely pleased to once again have the support of the Holiday Inn University Area,” says Beth Hochstetler, a JABA Long-Term Care Ombudsman. “Thanks in large part to the Holiday Inn, last year’s event was an evening to remember for everyone involved. And, this year, we have a record of 250 attendees registered. The evening would not be the same with out the hotel’s generosity.”

On the program this year will be guest speaker Minister Savola “Butter” Monroe, BSN, M.Div, with Peggy Scott, RN as the master of ceremonies. Just Us, an a-cappella group of eight singers, will provide the entertainment.
