Intergenerational Pen Pals Meet for the First Time

Students in Rachel Caldwell’s class at Burnley-Moran Elementary School in Charlottesville, Virginia were paired as pen pals with seniors at the Jefferson Area Board for Aging’s Mary Williams Community Senior Center (located at the Jefferson School) in November 2015. The program, which was started by Caldwell, has allowed the students to ask their pen pals questions about who they are, what they like and whatever else comes to mind.  Two month later, the pen pals got to meet each other for the first time on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
