Located at the main entrance of the historic and newly renovated Jefferson School, the Vinegar Hill Café will serve as a nonprofit, community-oriented dining spot, with all proceeds benefiting JABA (the Jefferson Area Board for Aging.) The Vinegar Hill Café will be open Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch, serving Greenberry’s coffee, homemade pastries, and sandwiches featuring seasonal local foods. In the evenings, the Café will be available for meetings, private parties and special catered events. The Vinegar Hill Café catering menu covers all types of events, from lunch meetings to dinner parties to large events, both inside the Jefferson School and elsewhere. The Café‘s crew will include a mix of culinary arts students and persons learning job skills, all led by experienced culinary professionals. There are many volunteer opportunities as well, including intergenerational programming, musical and artistic event planning, and community engagement activities, as well as working in the Café and kitchen. Vinegar Hill Café spans two large, former classrooms lit by several towering windows and decorated in warm colors with dorm-style furnishings.
