These events at our Respite & Enrichment Center (REC) on Hillsdale Drive in Charlottesville are open to the public, but we ask that you please RSVP 48 hours in advance to JREC Program Manager, Kelsie Short, at kshort@jabacares.org or 434-817-5235.

  • Tuesday, April 2, 11 am: Guitarist Stan Hamrick performs jukebox classics from the 1940's through the 70's.

  • Thursday, April 4 & 18, 10:45 am: The Front Porch, a nonprofit music school and venue, provides our JREC with sing-along performances each month that is sure to have the audience clapping along to the beat!

  • Friday, April 5, 2 pm: Movie Matinee: Race. Based on the story of Jesse Owens, the legendary athletic superstar

  • Monday, April 8, 11:15 am: Mary Williams Community Center Hallelujah Choir

  • Friday, April 12, 2 pm: Movie Matinee: Selena. American biographical musical drama film about Tejano music star Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, played by Jennifer Lopez.

  • Wednesday, April 17, 1 pm: Second Childhood provides toe-tapping performances each month for guests to enjoy. You can expect to hear popular tunes from the 50’s to the 70’s!

  • Friday, April 19, 11:00 am: Barber Shop Belles

  • Monday, April 22, 1:00 pm: Chef Demo: Shrimp Flambé

  • Thursday, April 25, 1:00 pm: International Folk Dance

  • Friday, April 26, 10:30 am: Monticello High School Choir

  • Tuesday, April 30, 1:00 pm: We Bring the Music brings joyful noises to quiet lives. They bring live concerts, performed by local professional musicians, to residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and adult care facilities
