Security & Emergency planning

  • Virginia Senior Alert: Tool for Virginia law enforcement agencies to help locate missing senior adults

  • Virginia Senior Medicare Patrol (Virginia SMP): For Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries to avoid, detect, and prevent health care fraud.

  • Charlottesville-Albemarle TRIAD: a crime-fighting partnership between local law enforcement, community organizations, and seniors.

  • Project Lifesaver: Albemarle County Sheriff’s Office provides signal transmitters to individuals diagnosed with a cognitive disorder, such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or other related cognitive disorders. When wearing an operational transmitter, it allows us to quickly locate the transmitter and in turn those who have wandered or who have become lost.

  • The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) has a program called PATH, Partnership for Accessible Transportation Help, a free transportation information and referral service open to the public, with a focus on helping older adults and people with disabilities who need rides in the Central Virginia area.
